FINAL CROP REVISION  12TH OCT 09

Please keep in mind that the final revision date for your crop insurance is Monday 12th October 2009. We need your final crop revisions by this date.
Crop policies can still be commenced after this date with CGU only.

NEW WEBSITE
Please take a look at our website www.gsinsurance.com.au The more hits we have, the higher up the Google search we will be. Also, we need your feedback so that we can further develop the site. Thanks!

Contracting Trucks and Headers
You may not be aware that when using your farm truck or header for contracting or off-farm purposes, your cover may be compromised.
Vehicles and machinery on a Farm Motor policy are rated at a lower premium than if they were on a Commercial Motor policy. They are considered a lower risk when used for own farm use.
Commercially used vehicles are a much higher insurance risk, as you can imagine.
Therefore, cover is not normally extended to contacting purposes unless it is accepted by the underwriter beforehand.

Windscreen cover
Our vehicle policies offer the option of one excess-free windscreen replacement per year.
For an extra $60 or so, you can elect to add this option to your policy.
That way, if a stone hits your windscreen and it needs to be replaced, it can be claimed without the usual excess having to be paid by you, and with no loss of No Claim Bonus.
Now that’s a bonus!

Trailers
Most of our Motor policies will also provide cover for a trailer or caravan being towed by the insured vehicle at the time of an accident – for no extra cost.
You could claim up to $500 or $1000 (depending on the policy) for theft or damage to your trailer. Public Liability cover also applies to the trailer while it is attached to the insured vehicle.

Home Contents – Valuables
This is an area sometimes overlooked when thinking about insuring your home contents.
You may have one or more items of valuable jewellery, eg an engagement ring.

Most of the so-called cheaper insurers may only provide a low limit per valuable item, and even then they are only covered while at home, and even then only for certain insured events.

Our “Accidental Damage” home contents policies cover up to $2000 or $2500 per item (depending on the underwriter), and the cover extends to anywhere in Australia or New Zealand for up to 90 days, for a broad range of losses.
So if you have one of these types of policies and you lose your diamond ring while you are away from home, it is most likely covered.

Of course it is a good idea to keep a record of ownership of any valuable, electronic or unusual items.

All the best ‘till next time!
